2022 a été une excellente année pour le secteur du pétrole et du gaz. Les acteurs de cette industrie ont, pour la plupart, enregistré des bénéfices exceptionnels.
En 2022, TotalEnergies, le géant français du pétrole, a enregistré un bénéfice net record de 36,2 milliards de dollars, soit le double du bénéfice enregistré l’année dernière. Le géant doit cette embellie à la hausse des prix du pétrole et du gaz depuis l’invasion de l’Ukraine par la Russie.
Ce bénéfice record s’inscrit dans une vague de super profits enregistrée par les autres mastodontes du secteur comme BP, Shell, Exxon Mobil et Chevron. D’ailleurs, de nombreuses associations de protection du climat, demandent que les gouvernements profitent de ces gains record pour taxer davantage le secteur, alors que les ménages peinent à payer leurs factures d’énergie.
Le PDG de TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanne a déclaré que le contexte mondial restait très favorable aux entreprises énergétiques, avec la relâche des mesures antiCovid-19 en Chine, qui stimule la demande. D’ailleurs de nombreux analystes estiment que la demande devrait exploser au cours des prochains mois, appelant l’OPEP+ à davantage rouvrir les vannes.
Notons que TotalEnergies a déclaré qu’elle proposerait un dividende de 2,81 euros par action, en hausse de 6,4 % par rapport à l’année précédente, plus un paiement exceptionnel de 1 euro par action.
La société a également signalé qu’elle prévoit des investissements nets de 16 à 18 milliards de dollars en 2023, y compris 5 milliards de dollars pour les énergies à faible émission de carbone.
