La croissance de l’économie sénégalaise devrait bondir à 10,1% en 2023, contre 4,8 % en 2022, grâce à l’entrée en production des premiers gisements d’hydrocarbures, a annoncé Amadou Ba, le Premier ministre, lundi 12 décembre.
« Le premier gisement pétrolier offshore devrait entrer en production à la fin 2023, et les champs de gaz suivront début 2024 », a-t-il précisé dans sa déclaration de politique à l’Assemblée nationale. « Une nouvelle ère s’ouvre devant nous, celle de la production de pétrole et de gaz dans notre cher pays », a ajouté M. Ba.
Il a également noté que la mise en œuvre du Plan Sénégal émergent (PSE) a créé une dynamique de croissance forte et soutenue.
« Le PSE a permis de renforcer le cadre macroéconomique et de réaliser des performances en termes de croissance, avec une hausse annuelle moyenne du PIB réel de 5,6% sur la période 2014-2021 et de 6,6% avant la Covid-19, contre 3% sur la période 1980-2013 », a-t-il souligné.
Selon lui, le dynamisme économique du pays s’est par ailleurs traduit par une forte hausse des investissements directs étrangers, qui s’est établie à 23,4% en moyenne par an entre 2014 et 2021, contre 3% par an sur la période 1980-2013.
Le Sénégal devrait rejoindre, dès 2023, le club des pays producteurs d’hydrocarbures grâce aux importantes découvertes offshore réalisées ces dernières années, dont celle du gigantesque gisement gazier Grande Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA).
