C’est autour d’une deuxième start-up sénégalaise après PAPS d’annoncer la mobilisation des ressources pour son essor. Une nouvelle qui symbolise une évolution de l’intérêt manifesté pour le secteur de l’e-logistique en Afrique de l’Ouest.
Century Oak Capital, qui fait partie d’un groupe de capital-risqueurs emmené par des spécialistes du secteur a manifesté sa confiance quant aux perspectives de croissance de l’entreprise sénégalaise Chargel, spécialisée dans la mise en réseau via les technologies des sociétés de fret, avec de potentiels clients ou utilisateurs de leurs services.
Ce collectif a investi un montant estimé à 750 000 $ pour permettre un premier amorçage de Chargel, dans la réalisation des premières étapes de son développement.
Moustapha Ndoye, cofondateur et directeur de l’entreprise a déclaré dans ce sens :« nous sommes super enthousiasmés par la réponse qu’on a reçue des expéditeurs et des transporteurs pendant la phase pilote, et sommes impatients de nous lancer dans notre mission de rendre le convoyage plus efficace, fiable et transparent dans notre région ».
Les investisseurs ont préféré faire confiance en la capacité des dirigeants de Chargel à mener à bien le projet, et également créer une activité rentable et capable de les hisser en position de leaders dans leur secteur.
Une démarche qui va au-delà du modèle économique de l’entreprise bénéficiaire de ce financement, qui est de rapprocher les demandeurs de services de fret de leurs fournisseurs de services
Il faut préciser que Chargel est la seconde entreprise d’e-logistique à réussir un cycle de financement cette année, après les 4,5 millions $ mobilisés par PAPS, à la fin du mois de janvier dernier. Plusieurs investisseurs, avaient participé à l’opération dont Proparco, le groupe Orange et des entités comme Enza Capital.
