La Deutsche Bahn projette bientôt de se tourner sur les biocarburants. En effet, la compagnie ferroviaire nationale allemande souhaite miser sur le recyclage des déchets et de rebuts, afin que la production de biocarburants ne soit pas en concurrence avec la production alimentaire.
Richard Lutz, PDG de Deutsche Bahn a annoncé ce dimanche que « les 3 000 véhicules diesel de notre flotte seront progressivement transférés vers l’utilisation de carburants alternatifs à partir de cette année ».
Concernant ses nouveaux véhicules, l’opérateur allemand Deutsche Bahn précise qu’à l’avenir, il n’achètera que des locomotives fonctionnant à l’hydrogène ou à la batterie.
Richard Lutz ajoute «qu’outre le passage à une électricité 100% verte, l’élimination progressive du diesel d’ici 2020 est l’un des principaux points de notre plan vert ».
La filiale est en phase avec la démarche
DB Cargo, la filiale de fret de la société, avait annoncé des objectifs similaires à la mi-janvier. L’utilisation de locomotives dites à double alimentation est une composante de celles qui peuvent passer d’un moteur électrique à un moteur diesel classique. Ainsi, ils peuvent être utilisés sur les lignes électrifiées et les lignes secondaires.
Il faut rappeler qu’ auparavant, la Deutsche Bahn avait exprimé son intention de procéder à un investissement de 13,6 milliards d’euros dans l’infrastructure ferroviaire allemande d’ici 2022. L’opérateur ferroviaire allemand souhaite moderniser 1 800 kilomètres de voies, 2 000 quais, 140 ponts et 800 gares.
Présence de DB Cargo également en Roumanie
Depuis 2000, DB Cargo Romania qui est un membre de Deutsche Bahn AG, le leader du marché du transport ferroviaire, opère en Roumanie et emploie actuellement plus de 700 personnes.
Selon Agerpres elle assure des transports nationaux et internationaux avec 60 locomotives et plus de 3 000 wagons sur l’ensemble du réseau ferroviaire du pays.
Il faut préciser que la compagnie ferroviaire Deutsche Bahn constitue la deuxième plus grande entreprise de transport au monde après l’entreprise allemande Deutsche Post (DHL).
