Le groupe pétrolier français TotalEnergies installe une borne de recharge de voitures électriques dans une station-service d’Accra. L’initiative participe à la croissance de la mobilité verte au Ghana.
C’est une première en Afrique de l’Ouest. Le groupe pétrolier français TotalEnergies a procédé à l’inauguration récente d’une borne de recharge pour véhicules électriques dans sa station-service de Liberation Road située à Accra, la capitale du Ghana.
L’installation affiche une capacité de 22 kilowatts, ce qui permet de charger complètement un véhicule électrique en moins de deux heures à en croire Olufemi Babajide le directeur général de TotalEnergies Marketing au Ghana.
L’initiative du géant français qui s’étalera dans plusieurs autres villes du pays a l’ambition de soutenir ainsi la transition énergétique au Ghana à travers le développement des énergies vertes et l’accompagnement de nouvelles formes de mobilité.
Jean Philippe Torres, le vice-président directeur de TotalEnergies Marketing et Services Afrique a expliqué « qu’aujourd’hui, nous encourageons les pays ayant une démarche volontariste en matière de mobilité électrique, grâce à notre large réseau d’infrastructures, et en nous appuyant sur des partenariats solides ».
Selon le ministère ghanéen de l’Énergie, il y a actuellement plus de 1000 véhicules électriques au Ghana et le but est « d’atteindre la neutralité carbone d’ici à 2050 en réduisant les émissions de CO2 » à Accra, au moment où le niveau de pollution atmosphérique est élevé dans la capitale.
En effet, un rapport d’étude réalisée conjointement par la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le Centre mondial pour l’adaptation (GCA) entrevoit des pertes économiques de près de 4 milliards de dollars au Ghana dans le trafic routier, ferroviaire et maritime, si rien n’est fait pour contrer les effets du changement climatique.
L’étude propose cependant un plan de résilience qui s’adapte à plusieurs niveaux du développement économique notamment la promotion des investissements dans le domaine de la mobilité écologique et la mise en place d’infrastructures vertes d’ici à 2050 dans ce pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest.
