Au cours de l’année 2022, Owendo Container Terminal (OCT) a enregistré de bonnes performances, notamment les records des plus grands navires porte-conteneurs jamais opérés au Gabon (Düsseldorf express et Dallas Express de l’armateur Hapag Llyod), et de fréquentation du terminal avec un pic de 622 camions en une seule journée.
Autre point positif, la durée des opérations de manutention à bord qui a diminué de 15%, réduisant le temps de séjour des navires au port, « avec 30% d’escales supplémentaires par rapport à 2021, à taille d’escale égale », indique Laurent Goutard DG d’OCT. Des améliorations qui ont positivement impacté les transporteurs, dont le temps d’acconage dans le terminal a diminué de plus de 2 jours en moyenne, relaie Le Nouveau Gabon.
Selon l’opérateur du terminal à conteneurs du port d’Owendo, ces résultats ont été obtenus grâce aux investissements réalisés pour la formation et le recrutement de nouveaux talents locaux, ainsi que la digitalisation des processus opérationnels et commerciaux au profit de l’efficience du passage portuaire des conteneurs. Le dragage du quai a également été réalisé pour maintenir le niveau de service.
Ces efforts dans l’investissement et l’amélioration de l’efficience « nous ont permis de garder des prix stables pour la 5ème année consécutive, concourant ainsi pleinement à accompagner les initiatives du gouvernement gabonais dans la lutte contre la vie chère », poursuit Laurent Goutard.
