Bolloré Africa Logistics et le Port Autonome de Douala ont procédé le vendredi 10 décembre 2022 à Douala, à la signature du contrat de concession du Terminal Bois du Port de Douala (TBPD).
Cette nouvelle structure, qui reprend le patrimoine de la Société d’Exploitation des Parcs à Bois du Cameroun (SEPBC), aura la charge durant 15 années de développer les activités du terminal bois du port de Douala-Bonabéri.
Ce contrat de concession est la matérialisation du partenariat qui lie depuis plusieurs années déjà Bolloré Africa Logistics et le Port autonome de Douala (PAD) à travers la SEPBC.
Au cours des cinq dernières années, cette société a mené des actions majeures évaluées à près de 11 milliards de FCFA, dont le préfinancement pour le compte du PAD d’un poste à quai avancé (duc d’Albes), la modernisation des équipements de manutention, l’obtention des certifications ISO 9001 (qualité de service) et ISO 45001 (santé et sécurité au travail) décernées par Bureau Véritas.
La filiale de Bolloré Africa Logistics a également mis en œuvre des solutions adaptées aux besoins des acteurs de la filière bois en vue d’obtenir la certification au code ISPS sur la sûreté des installations portuaires.
Afin de poursuivre le développement de la filière bois au Cameroun, Bolloré Africa Logistics entend mettre en place son plan d’investissements qui s’élève à 15 milliards de Fcfa sur la durée de la concession.
Il s’agit notamment de réaliser le dallage et le pavage des zones de stockage et d’embarquement sur une surface totale de 10 hectares, de lancer la construction d’hangars de stockage pour les produits élaborés (en lien avec les évolutions de la règlementation internationale et régionale sur l’exportation du bois), et de renouveler les équipements de manutention et de transport afin d’améliorer la productivité des opérations.
« Nous sommes heureux de la signature de ce contrat de concession qui consolide le partenariat avec le Port de Douala. Nous allons poursuivre le chantier de modernisation déjà engagé du Terminal Bois afin de proposer des solutions pour les acteurs de la filière et renforcer le commerce extérieur du Cameroun. », a déclaré Jean Luc PALLIX Directeur général du Terminal Bois du Port de Douala

Le Terminal Bois du Port de Douala (TBPD), filiale de Bolloré Africa Logistics, est le nouveau concessionnaire du terminal bois du port de douala en lieu et place de la Société d’Exploitation des Parcs à Bois du Cameroun (SEPBC).
Avec une moyenne de 1 100 000 m3 de bois manutentionnés par an et plus de 400 employés, TBPD participe activement au développement du Cameroun et mène également des actions pour les populations en partenariat avec des associations pour l’aide à la scolarisation et à la réinsertion sociale des jeunes.
