Ingram Micro et le Groupe CMA CGM, un leader mondial du transport maritime de la logistique, ont signé un accord portant sur l’acquisition par le Groupe CMA CGM de l’activité Commerce & Lifecycle Services (CLS) d’Ingram Micro. Ce partenariat inclue Shipwire et les activités de logistique de l’entreprise en Amérique du Nord, en Europe, en Amérique latine et en Asie-Pacifique. Alors que la valeur d’entreprise de l’opération est de 3 milliards de dollars USD, Ingram Micro conservera la partie restante des activités de CLS.
Le Groupe CMA CGM a décidé de renforcer son offre dans la logistique pour soutenir les chaînes d’approvisionnement de ses clients. Spécialisée dans la logistique contractuelle pour le e-commerce et la gestion des commandes omnicanales, l’activité CLS a été acquise auprès d’Ingram Micro.
Cette opération comprend également l’acquisition de Shipwire, plateforme technologique logistique dans le cloud. L’activité acquise représente quant à elle un chiffre d’affaires annuel estimé à 1,7 milliard de dollars USD en 2021 employant 11 500 salariés à travers le monde dans 59 entrepôts, avec une présence forte aux États-Unis et en Europe.
Cette acquisition est un exemple de la volonté du Groupe CMA CGM « de renforcer sa position de leader mondial dans le transport maritime et la logistique ».
Entre CLS et Ceva Logistics, les effectifs affectés aux activités logistiques du Groupe représenteront environ 90 000 personnes sur près de 1 100 sites dans 160 pays.
La réunion des activités de Ceva Logistics et de CLS donnera naissance au quatrième acteur mondial des services de logistique contractuelle.
L’activité au sein de Ceva Logistics sera toujours dirigée par Michiel Alting von Geusau, actuel Vice-Président exécutif, et président de Global Commerce & Lifecycle Services pour Ingram Micro.
Cette acquisition vient en appoint de l’offre de Ceva Logistics sur le segment de la logistique contractuelle. Elle lui permet d’atteindre son objectif d’intégrer le Top 5 mondial des acteurs de la logistique. Selon le rapport 2021 Magic Quadrant Logistics 3PL Worldwide de Gartner Ceva se place déjà parmi les leaders.
Une position renforcée sur le marché en forte croissance du e-commerce
Pour accélérer son développement sur des segments de marché clés comme la technologie, la distribution et la mode, l’activité CLS d’Ingram Micro viendra compléter les activités existantes de commerce électronique de Ceva Logistics.
CLS dispose d’une expertise qualifiée et solide dans la logistique contractuelle en plus d’excellentes connaissances du e-commerce, notamment la gestion de la logistique des retours, la livraison le jour même et la visibilité des colis.
Pour les PME du secteur de l’e-commerce La plateforme Shipwire de traitement des commandes offre des solutions logistiques flexibles.
De ce fait, Shipwire pourra s’appuyer sur le portefeuille de plus de 100 000 clients de CMA CGM et sur les entrepôts de CEVA pour accélérer son développement et élargir sa présence au plan mondial. Ensemble, Ceva Logistics et CLS seront l’un des leaders mondiaux des services de e-commerce de bout en bout.
Le Groupe CMA CGM poursuit sa stratégie de développement et accélère ses investissements. Intégrée dans la stratégie du Groupe, cette acquisition vise à offrir et à développer des solutions complètes de transport et de logistique pour soutenir les chaînes d’approvisionnement de ses clients.

Le Groupe CMA CGM finance cette acquisition sur ses fonds propres. La clôture de l’opération est soumise aux conditions habituelles, notamment à l’obtention des approbations réglementaires par les autorités compétentes. De fait, la clôture de l’opération devrait intervenir au premier semestre 2022.
