Sonatrach réalise une année exceptionnelle du point de vue opérationnel. La firme d’Etat annonçait, fin juin, avoir mis la main sur l’un des plus importants gisements gaziers, découverts ces 20 dernières années.
La compagnie publique en charge des hydrocarbures en Algérie, Sonatrach, a indiqué, mercredi 24 août, qu’elle a découvert un gisement d’or noir sur la concession Sbâa, située dans la wilaya d’Adrar, une localité du sud-ouest du pays.
C’est la première fois en 28 ans que du pétrole est identifié dans la région. L’opération résulte du succès des activités de forage du puits Hassi Illatou Est-1 (LTE-1) réalisées sur le périmètre. Selon les premières estimations fournies par l’entreprise d’Etat, le site hébergerait entre 48 et 150 millions de barils d’huile.
Pour l’instant, aucune information n’a fuité quant à la stratégie envisagée dans le cadre du développement et de l’exploitation du gisement.
« Ce résultat positif est très encourageant pour la poursuite de l’activité Exploration des hydrocarbures liquides dans la région de Sbâa afin de garantir l’approvisionnement de la raffinerie d’Adrar », a indiqué la société dans un communiqué.
Depuis plusieurs mois, la société algérienne du pétrole a multiplié les découvertes d’or noir et de gaz à travers le pays. Une réussite opérationnelle qui pourrait accroître l’influence régionale de Sonatrach tout en renforçant la dimension stratégique de l’Algérie dans l’offre mondiale de pétrole.
