Janngo, la plate-forme digitale d’entreprenariat social fondée par la sénégalaise Fatoumata Bâ vient de lever en ce fin décembre €10,5 millions pour son fonds panafricain pour les startups technologiques, Janngo Start-Up Fund.
La Banque africaine de développement (BAD), à hauteur de €7 millions et $3,5 millions de l’Union européenne et de l’Organisation des États d’Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique ont contribué à cette première levée de fonds.
Dans sa stratégie mis en place, Janngo Start-Up Fund s’active à la création, le développement et l’investissement dans des start-up technologiques, principalement en Afrique de l’Ouest francophone dans divers domaines d’activité à savoir l’agroalimentaire, les services financiers, l’énergie, l’éducation et la santé etc.
Par ailleurs la BAD indique que « ces fonds collectés devraient permettre le renforcement du secteur privé en déployant des modèles commerciaux basés sur la technologie pour les petites et moyennes entreprises qui répondent aux besoins des populations défavorisées.
Mais aussi ils participent à la création des opportunités d’emploi pour les jeunes et les femmes ainsi qu’à amélioration de la qualité de vie des populations africaines ».
