Le gouvernement sénégalais a décidé de procéder à une réduction de sa subvention au secteur de l’énergie pour faire une économie de 258,2 milliards de FCFA, a indiqué le ministère sénégalais du Pétrole et des Energies dans une note publiée samedi.
Avec une telle économie, tirée de l’électricité pour 99,7 milliards de FCFA et des produits pétroliers pour 158,5 milliards de FCFA, le gouvernement va «mieux ajuster la subvention vers les foyers vulnérables et financer des projets à fort impact social», a souligné le ministère.
La note explique la réduction de la subvention du secteur de l’énergie par «la persistance de la crise internationale qui renchérit de plus en plus les cours des matières premières et affecte l’économie mondiale».
Entre autres conséquences de cette mesure, une augmentation de 100 FCFA est consentie sur les prix du gasoil et du supercarburant, ajoute la note.
Ces nouveaux prix entrent en vigueur ce samedi en début de soirée. Par ailleurs, «une hausse moyenne de 16,72% a été appliquée de manière générale» sur les prix de l’électricité.
