Le gouvernement, à travers le Fonds de développement des transports terrestres (FDTT), a prévu pour les 5 prochaines années, de renouveler le parc automobile du Sénégal. A en croire l’administrateur du FDTT, Babacar Gaye, plus de 45 000 véhicules sont vétustes.
« Après les différentes études qui ont été menées, il a été démontré que plus de 40 000 véhicules ont plus de 30 ans. C’est pourquoi il urge de démarrer le programme de renouvellement, comme le rappelle régulièrement le chef de l’Etat dans les différents Conseils des ministres. Et je pense qu’en mettant en place le fonds, il a voulu donner au transport un nouveau visage, de même qu’aux véhicules. Donc, le programme mis en place 2023- 2028, devrait normalement, bouter hors de nos routes plus de 40 000 véhicules vétustes », affirme l’administrateur du FDTT.
A côté de ces directions, il y aura le Cetud pour la régularisation et l’Anaser, pour la sécurité routière. « Dans cette dynamique, plus de 700 km de routes entre 2014 et 2020 ont été construites ; 19 autoponts en cours de construction ou de réception ont été constatés à Dakar comme à l’intérieur du pays et pour compléter cette politique, nous voulons mettre en place de nouveaux véhicules pour sécuriser les usagers, mais aussi donner l’opportunité aux transporteurs de travailler convenablement, avec les moyens dont ils disposent, avec des véhicules de qualité», affirme l’administrateur du Fonds de développement des transports terrestres (FDTT), Babacar Gaye.
Concernant par ailleurs les critères d’éligibilité aux financements du renouvellement du parc de véhicules de transport public, il indique qu’il faut, entre autres, être membre d’une organisation faîtière et d’un programme de modernisation agréé par l’Etat central et les collectivités territoriales, posséder un agrément délivré par la DRTT et valable 5 ans, disposer d’un véhicule immatriculé en son nom, avec une licence urbaine ou interurbaine de transport public, exploiter le véhicule sur les itinéraires autorisés conformément à la législation et surtout, s’engager à participer aux programmes de formation et particulièrement, aux sessions avant livraison, et à entretenir les véhicules par le concessionnaire du programme, pendant toute la durée de remboursement.
