En effet, l’éboulement de terrain survenu, samedi 24 décembre à 1h30, qui a emporté 900 mètres de rails et un viaduc entre Offoué et Booué, mettant ainsi un coup d’arrêt brutal au trafic ferroviaire, est inédit. Et au regard de la gravité de la situation, il est difficile, voire impossible de s’avancer sur la date d’une probable reprise.
«Pour ce qui concerne le rétablissement du trafic, nous ne pouvons pas nous prononcer maintenant. Les dégâts sont tellement importants que nous avons souhaité que toutes les dispositions soient prises et que des études soient menées de sorte que nous puissions assurer une reprise sécurisée du transport ferroviaire», a réagi le ministre des Transports.
Sur instructions de la Première ministre, une cellule de crise a été mise en place. Celle-ci compte en son sein les responsables du groupe Eramet et les partenaires de la Société d’exploitation du Transgabonais (Setrag).
