Bp et ses partenaires, Kosmos energy et Petrosen, envisagent de prendre une décision d’investissement finale sur le développement de la première phase du champ gazier offshore de Yakaar-Teranga au Sénégal avant fin 2022. L’annonce a été faite par directeur des Hydrocarbures du Ministère du Pétrole Thierno Seydou Ly rapporté par le site de Energy capital & power.
En effet, cité sur le site de Energy capital & power, Seydou Ly a déclaré : « nous avons déjà terminé la phase d’évaluation». «Nous espérons prendre une décision finale en 2022 et commencer la production en 2024.
Il s’agit de la première phase. La seconde phase va se concentrer sur les exportations de Gaz naturel liquéfié à travers le développement d’installations pétrochimiques, facilitant la perspective de transformer le champ en un futur hub de gaz naturel liquéfié pour le Bassin Msgbc (Mauritanie-Sénégal-Gambie-Guinée-Guinée Conakry) ».
Toujours selon les propos de Thierno Seydou Ly, le développement du champ Yakaar-Teranga table sur une production qui avoisine 20 billions de pieds cubes de gaz naturel. Elle va permettre de convoyer l’électrification dans ce pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest.
«Le bloc Cayar profond, dans lequel se trouve le champ Yakaar-Teranga, est exploité par Bp avec une participation de 60%, tandis que Kosmos energy exploite le champ avec une participation de 30% ». Il faut quand même rappeler que les 10% restants sont détenus par PETROSEN ».
