L’État du Sénégal est entrain de tout mettre en œuvre pour que le projet de réalisation des grands trains du Sénégal soit effectif en 2023. C’est ce qu’a annoncé le ministre Mansour Faye devant les députés à l’Assemblée Nationale.
Le ministre des Infrastructures des Transports terrestres et du Désenclavement assure que c’est une question de temps pour les différentes parties, État et partenaires financiers puissent finaliser ce projet.
Parmi les bailleurs qui peuvent participer à la réalisation de ce projet, « la Coopération canadienne est disposée à réaliser des voies à deux sens à écartement standard pour un poids à l’essieu de 22,5 tonnes ».
Un projet ambitieux qui s’élèverait à 3 milliards de dollars et qui intéresse d’autres bailleurs prêts à accorder un financement à l’image de la Banque Mondiale et l’entreprise Etihad Ride.
C’est un projet de 656 Km qui va intégrer les zones minières de Tambacounda et de Kédougou et le processus suit son cour. « Nous sommes en phase avec les partenaires et nous comptons finaliser avec l’un ou l’autre dans le courant de l’année et les travaux démarrent en 2023 » a affirmé Mansour Faye.
Se réjouissant des pourparlers avec les différents partenaires, il soutient que « le projet permettra de régler la question du rail mais aussi l’exploitation des minerais au niveau de Tambacounda et le transport des minerais en provenance de Matam, notamment les phosphates de Ndiendouri » précisant que le chef de l’État Macky Sall accorde une importance capitale à ce dossier et en a fait une priorité.
Par ailleurs Mansour Faye a évoqué le cas des grands trains du Sénégal qui demeurent emprisonnés à Rufisque. « Des dispositions seront prises pour que ces locomotives soient enlevées » a-t-il rassuré.
Concernant la réalisation des axes Tivaoune Mékhé, et Thiès Tivaoune, le financement de près de 100 Millions Frans CFA a été bouclé sa réalisation permettra de mieux gérer le transport des personnes au niveaux de ces axes.
A en croire le ministre l’APIX aurait déjà pris les devants et les trains stationnant à Rufisque seront délogés dans les meilleurs délais.
