Morocco-Gambia: An international road transport agreement in the offing

The agreement aims to establish cooperative relations between the two countries in the field of road transport of passengers and goods, in order to promote trade.

The Government Council, meeting in Rabat on Thursday, took note of an agreement on international road transport of passengers and goods between Morocco and Gambia, signed on January 25, 2024 in Dakhla, and of draft law no. 06.24 approving the said agreement.

Presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad, Nasser Bourita, this agreement aims to establish cooperative relations between the two countries in the field of road transport, in order to promote trade, said the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing after the Council.

This agreement includes road transport operations for passengers and goods between the territories of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of the Gambia, or crossing their territories by national carriers, using vehicles registered with one of the parties, he added.
