Yango already offers a service of order taxis online in several African countries (Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ghana, Angola, Zambia, etc.). In partnership with Bee Moto, the application will now expand its register to motorcycle taxis in Douala.
In a press release published on Invest in Cameroon, Yango, a subsidiary of the powerful Russian search engine Yandex, announces the launch of its new motorcycle service in Douala.
« Yango users will be able to order a motorcycle ride with the app, choosing the motorcycle service among other options. The motorcycles will be available in all areas of the city, except those prohibited to motorcycles, such as Bonanjo ».
In a country where the majority of intra-urban travel is by motorcycle, Yango promises to pay particular attention to safety:
« The app displays and tracks all necessary information about the driver picking up the order and allows the user to share their route with friends or family or contact emergency services through the app if necessary. »
Yango, often referred to as the “Russian Uber,” is present in around 20 countries in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
