As part of its development plan, Morocco has embarked on a skills regionalization strategy, creating training opportunities based on regional needs.

The Moroccan Minister for Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, inaugurated two specialized schools on Tuesday March 5, according to a Ministry press release.

The first school, called Institut pluridisciplinaire des métiers de la logistique et de l'industrie, is based in the Fahs-Anjra district. It offers training at technician and specialized technician level in the fields of logistics and industry, with specializations in the maintenance of heavy machinery and industrial vehicles, as well as in the handling of port equipment.

Located in Martil, the second school is an institute specializing in building and civil engineering trades, with specialties in multi-purpose masonry and carpentry. It has a capacity of 220 teaching places available for qualification, technician and specialized technician levels.

"These initiatives reflect the Ministry's commitment to supporting regional development plans, in line with the roadmap for the development of vocational training adopted in 2019, and in accordance with the guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, [...]", the statement said.

These two new schools have been added to the kingdom's vocational training offering, with the aim of meeting the skills needs of young people in line with the demands of the job market.
