United Oil & Gas had informed its plan to drill the Al Jahraa-14 development well, the third of its 3 drilling campaign on the Abu Sennan license in Egypt, in its last activity report published in March.
It was on Tuesday, June 21, that British oil company United Oil & Gas announced that drilling operations on the Al Jahraa-14 development well have been launched.
Located in the Al Jahraa field, it is the third of the five wells that the firm has decided to drill on the Abu Sennan license this year. The primary objective of the drilling activities is to intercept hydrocarbon-bearing pockets located in the Abu Roash C reservoir. Then, they aim to reach a target located in the Abu Roash G reservoir.
The company fully financed the well operations with its own funds, and the duration of the work is estimated at around 60 days.
If successful, The company is counting on a rapid start-up of Al Jahraa-14. Brian Larkin, CEO of United Oil & Gas explains that “successful development wells can be brought on stream within days using existing infrastructure, supporting the company’s production and revenues.”.
However, the company noted that it continues to execute operations on the ASV-1X well. The company nevertheless indicates that an update on the activities will be made public in due course.
