With the construction of a new freight center at Frankfurt airport, DHL is strengthening its infrastructure in Germany. The project is presented as "a new milestone".

News. Fraport, the company that manages Frankfurt airport, is building a new airfreight hall for DHL in the CargoCity South area. The project is presented as "a further step" in the development of Europe's leading airfreight hub.

Groundbreaking ceremony. In mid-2025, DHL will move into the new hall at Gate 31 of CargoCity Süd. Fraport will retain ownership of the logistics center, which DHL will lease. "Construction of the new building on the 55,000 m2 site will take around twelve months", Fraport announced at the ground-breaking ceremony in mid-February.

One year for a building that will cover 24,500 m2, including 3,000 m2 of office space. 25 truck parking spaces and 185 car parking spaces are also planned.

A substantial budget. Lufthansa Cargo is also investing heavily in its Frankfurt freight hub, to the tune of 500 million euros. This includes the construction of an automated high-bay warehouse and the renovation of existing buildings.
