Agility has published its 2024 ranking of the world's top logistics performers. In Africa, Egypt remains in the lead.
Côte d'Ivoire misses out on the 2024 ranking
In 2018, according to the World Bank Logistics Performance Index, Côte d'Ivoire ranked 66th in the world. Alassane Ouattara's country was ranked 6th in Africa. South Africa was the African leader, followed by Botswana and Egypt. However, Côte d'Ivoire does not feature in the 2024 ranking drawn up by Agility Emerging Markets Logistics.
The best logistics performances in 2024
Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index has established the 2024 ranking of countries' best logistics performances, taking as criteria global competitiveness based on their logistics assets, business climate and digital readiness.
According to the agency, the ranking methodology examines four key areas for logistics market development, namely domestic logistics opportunity, international logistics opportunity, business fundamentals and digital readiness.
The aim of Agility Emerging Markets Logistics was to to assess the markets offering "the best logistics opportunities from three angles: a data-driven index that ranks 50 of the world's most promising emerging logistics markets according to a series of key variables. The survey polled over 800 logistics managers.
China, world leader
China tops the 2024 ranking of best logistics performers with an index of 8.61, compared with 8.31 in the recent ranking. It is followed by India, with an index of 7.21. It should be noted that India's index fell slightly from 7.43 in the last ranking. The United Arab Emirates ranks 3rd in the world with an index of 6.49.

Africa's top 10
Egypt, ranked 20th in the world, dominates the African ranking with a score of 5.04. The African leader improved (+1). Morocco (ranked 22nd in the world) is second with a score of 4.99. South Africa finishes 3rd in Africa, despite being 24th in the world.
It should be noted that South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Libya and Mozambique stagnated in the rankings.
