Pensionnaire de l’Université Gaston Berger de Saint Louis au Sénégal, Appolinaire Agossou a eu le privilège d’être sélectionné parmi les lauréats du concours du MISE (Maersk International Shipping Education) initié par la compagnie maritime Maersk Line. Une opportunité qui lui permettra de faire ses premiers pas dans le monde du maritime et de la Supply Chain avec deux années d’expérience. Par la suite, il intègre la société agro-alimentaire PATISEN, en tant qu’assistant transit lui faisant découvrir par la même occasion le monde du transit. Fort d’une expérience d’une quinzaine d’années, ce passionné de la logistique et de la Supply Chain décide de tracer sa propre voie en lançant ITB Sénégal SA en 2020 avec des partenaires investisseurs, une entreprise ambitieuse de prestations de services en transit, transport et conseils qui ne se fixe pas de limites dans un secteur en perpétuelle mutation.
- Vous êtes Directeur Général de ITB Sénégal depuis janvier 2020, pouvez-vous nous parler de ITB, ses activités et services ?
ITB Sénégal est une société sœur de ITB Limited Guinée et nous sommes vraiment forts dans tout ce qui est transit et transport. Nous développons aussi des activités de conseils et d’entreposage et nous nous efforçons de la meilleure manière possible d’accompagner nos clients pour pouvoir importer et exporter leurs marchandises.
Nous les assistons à faire la bonne Supply Chain, nous essayons d’avoir les meilleures ressources pour les accompagner dans cela, que ce soit sur le plan des ressources humaines, financières et techniques. Nous accordons une attention particulière à leurs sollicitations.
- Après deux ans d’existence dans le marché où situez-vous ITB dans le concert des entreprises de logistiques au Sénégal ?
ITB est une entreprise sénégalaise très jeune avec juste deux années d’existence. Donc, nous sommes une startup qui grandit, mais nous voulons quand même nous différencier dans la manière de faire. Nous nous disons que ce que font les multinationales, il n’y a aucune raison pour laquelle nous, les africains, nous ne soyons pas capables de le faire. Nous essayons d’attirer les meilleures ressources humaines, nous mettons à leur disposition les meilleures orientations techniques, moyens logistiques et financiers afin de nous mettre au niveau de ces multinationales.
Il n’y a pas de raison que certains de nos compatriotes acceptent de faire de la Supply Chain et du transit de manière informelle, archaïque comme le faisait nos grands-parents. On évite vraiment de tomber dans ce sillage. On veut absolument proposer les meilleurs services possibles.
- Le transit est un secteur sensible très important dans l’économie d’un pays, selon vous quels sont les enjeux et les perspectives par rapport au Sénégal ?
Les enjeux, c’est surtout de pouvoir accompagner le développement de l’exploitation des nouvelles ressources naturelles qui sont projetées pour 2023 et c’est déjà demain. Il ne faudrait pas laisser la place vide à des multinationales concurrentes, il faut se tenir prêt. J’invite les acteurs sénégalais qui le peuvent à rentrer dans ce créneau.
L’année prochaine tous ceux qui ne seront pas prêts seront « out of the market ». Donc, il faut vraiment de la rigueur, du sérieux, beaucoup de volonté et surtout bien travailler pour maintenir une dynamique de performance.
- Vous avez un un parcours professionnel riche qui vous a amené à travailler dans plusieurs entreprises, quelle analyse faites-vous du secteur de la logistique au Sénégal en termes de formation et de pratiques standards ?
Au Sénégal, on a la chance de disposer de très bons instituts, personnellement je trouve que nos jeunes sont bien formés mais il faut également beaucoup de rigueur dans le travail. Même si vous êtes bien formés et qu’au jour le jour vous ne travaillez pas avec l’esprit de vouloir délivrer le meilleur service possible, cela ne marchera pas.
Il faut forcément se mettre au diapason et être le meilleur dans son activité pour pouvoir y perdurer. J’invite vraiment les acteurs à le faire avec toute la passion et ne pas accepter les compromissions. Il faut vraiment aimer ce que l’on fait. Si on travaille sérieusement, il y a des attitudes et des démarches à ne pas adopter. Malheureusement, il y a certaines pratiques qui gangrènent notre secteur d’activité et c’est qui est qui est déplorable et à bannir.
- Quelle appréciation faites-vous du magazine Africa Supply Chain ?
C’est un magazine très intéressant qui nous permet d’être à jour par rapport à notre secteur d’activité. Africa Supply Chain fournit beaucoup d’informations liées au secteur de la logistique au Sénégal, dans la sous-région en Afrique et un partout dans le monde. C’est vraiment un magazine très riche, innovant, porté par des personnes de valeur et qui croient beaucoup à la Supply Chain. Je vous souhaite bon vent et vous encourage à continuer dans ce sillage et à informer les acteurs pour tirer le secteur vers le haut.
