Dans l’industrie portuaire comme dans d’autres secteurs, la numérisation et l’automatisation deviennent des leviers indispensables pour aboutir à des processus simplifiés et réaliser des gains importants en temps et en coûts.
L’Organisation maritime internationale (OMI) insiste sur la nécessité pour tous les ports de ses États membres de mettre en place un guichet maritime unique avant le 1er janvier 2024.
Au cours d’un colloque tenu les 18 et 19 janvier derniers sous le thème « Guichet unique maritime 2024 – Perspectives nouvelles pour les transports maritimes et les ports », l’OMI et plusieurs experts se sont penchés sur les approches qui permettront aux plateformes d’intégrer cet instrument à leurs services, notamment les services aux navires.
Cet outil d’échange électronique de renseignements à l’arrivée, pendant le séjour et au départ des navires dans les ports, devrait aider à simplifier les formalités d’escale, ce qui réduirait le temps et les coûts de séjour à quai. La réforme devrait aussi participer à réduire les émissions de carbone de l’industrie maritime et portuaire.
L’OMI est disposée, selon son secrétaire général Kitack Lim, à fournir le soutien nécessaire aux autorités portuaires ou gouvernementales pour faciliter la mise en place de cette solution technologique dans tous les ports concernés.
