Le représentant spécial américain pour le Commerce, Dilawar Syed, a souligné, vendredi à Washington, l’importance de la coopération entre le Maroc et le Nigeria dans le cadre de leur partenariat visant à assurer la réussite de la transition énergétique de l’Afrique, notant qu’il s’agit d’un partenariat liant deux grands pays dans ce domaine.
«La coordination et la coopération dans le domaine de la transition énergétique est une bonne chose», a-t-il indiqué dans une déclaration à la MAP, en marge d’une rencontre organisée par le Conseil du commerce USA-Nigeria sur le rôle du Nigeria et du Maroc dans le cadre de la coopération régionale et l’avenir du secteur énergétique en Afrique.
«Nous continuons à encourager tout le monde à adopter les énergies renouvelables», a-t-il ajouté. «C’est bon pour la planète et le continent africain», a affirmé Dilawar.
Le responsable américain a également mis en avant le potentiel à long terme offert par le domaine des énergies renouvelables au continent africain, ainsi que les perspectives prometteuses qu’offre le développement des hydrocarbures pour le Maroc.
La rencontre, organisée en partenariat avec l’ambassade du Maroc à Washington, a été l’occasion de souligner que le partenariat solide entre le Maroc et le Nigeria joue un rôle important dans la sécurisation de l’avenir énergétique mondial.
Au cours de cette rencontre, à laquelle participaient le ministre nigérian de l’Industrie, du commerce et de l’investissement, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, ainsi que la directrice générale de l’Office national des hydrocarbures et des mines (ONHYM), Amina Benkhadra, les participants ont souligné que le partenariat entre les deux pays ne se limite pas à favoriser la prospérité du continent africain, mais contribue également à développer l’avenir de l’énergie aux niveaux régional et international.
