Logistics services provider Scan Global Logistics sets up in Mombasa, one of East Africa's largest seaports.

Eleven months after opening its first office in Kenya, in the capital Nairobi, freight forwarder Scan Global Logistics (SGL) inaugurates a second in Mombasa, a city overlooking the Indian Ocean. The region's main port of unloading, this seaport represents a gateway to East and Central Africa.

A team of seven logistics specialists will be on hand to provide customers with customized end-to-end solutions, including customs clearance, transshipment and warehousing. Mombasa is a key logistics hub," explains Michael Mnyubi, Operations Manager of the Mombasa office.

From our new office, we can manage operations and inquiries directly without the use of agents, which means we can provide improved services, efficient cargo handling and rapid customs clearance."

A strategy of expansion in Africa

The new site is Scan Global Logistics' twelfth on the African continent, alongside offices in Senegal, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Benin and South Africa. As Duncan Wagura, Managing Director of SGL Kenya, explains:

"Mombasa's strategic location enables us to effectively serve the promising markets of East and Central Africa. We look forward to further consolidating our presence in Kenya and Africa, and providing local and global customers with comprehensive, efficient, end-to-end solutions."
