Kuehne+Nagel and SATS Ltd sign a strategic collaboration agreement in the air logistics industry.

Kuehne+Nagel and SATS Ltd recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enter into a strategic collaboration aimed at improving value chain and sustainability efforts in the air logistics industry.

The two companies have already successfully collaborated on several pilot projects aimed at optimizing ground handling of e-commerce shipments, hub and spoke operations for charter flights, as well as improving shipment visibility and cargo handling speed for urgent shipments.

The aim of this collaboration between Kuehne+Nagel and SATS, which acquired Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in April 2023, the world's largest airfreight logistics provider, is to co-develop and implement solutions for customers in Asia, Europe and North America.

Initial pilot projects have produced encouraging results, demonstrating time savings and a reduction in contact points for Kuehne+Nagel shipments at SATS airport facilities.

Strategic collaboration to improve the supply chain

Yngve Ruud, member of Kuehne+Nagel's Management Board responsible for air logistics, said: "Collaboration is at the heart of what we do at Kuehne+Nagel, and we are delighted to be partnering with SATS.

By leveraging our combined expertise and global footprints, we are enhancing our service offering and continuing to create value for our customers worldwide." Kerry Mok, President and CEO of SATS, added: "We are always looking for ways to bring added value to our customers to better serve them and take advantage of new opportunities offered by our expanding global network.

Kuehne+Nagel shares this progressive approach, which is why our companies are moving from a classic customer-supplier relationship to a strategic collaboration aimed at improving supply chain efficiency."
