Emma chooses Service Optimizer 99+ published by ToolsGroup to replace her old supply chain planning tool. France and Germany are the first countries where the new solution will be deployed.
Anticipating exponential growth, the former bedding specialist's tool has decided to opt for the publisher's Service Optimizer 99+ (SO99+) supply chain planning solution ToolsGroup.
Indeed, mattress brand Emma was no longer up to the task when it came to rethinking its manual and disconnected planning processes, as well as complex supplier and production networks.
Olga Pshenychna, head of operation planning at Emma, explains that “with people spending more time at home, online sales of bedding have exploded. But demand varies enormously from one region to another.”
“In partnership with ToolsGroup, we will transform our end-to-end planning process to benefit from increased, centralized visibility and greater transparency across our network,” he announced.
Continuing his remarks, he specifies that this transformation will allow us to optimize decisions related to our S&OP processes,” explains Olga Pshenychna, head of operation planning at Emma.
As for the new SO99+ planning tool, it will work towards better inventory management, order execution, demand modeling and replenishment.
As part of a large-scale plan to overhaul the IT system, SO99+ will be deployed first in France and Germany, then in other countries where the Emma brand is present.
In France, the new centralized approach concerns 500 SKUs within ten product families, two warehouses, European suppliers and several sales channels: the brand's website, marketplaces and external distributors.
The supply chain is becoming more complicated with more SKUs, many international suppliers, and direct shipping from the distribution center. This is especially the case in Germany.
Moreover, Mauro Adorno, COO of ToolsGroup EMEA and APAC underlines: “For a fast-growing global company like Emma, which is characterized by a complex supply chain, the quality and efficiency of supply chain planning can really make the difference between the rest of the players in a highly competitive market and the leaders.
