The British company Chariot announced on Tuesday, May 2, a new partnership with Vivo Energy, a specialist in the marketing of petroleum products. Its purpose: the creation of a joint venture that will oversee the distribution of natural gas to industrial customers in Morocco.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, May 2, the British firm Chariot announced the conclusion of a partnership agreement with Vivo Energy for the creation of a joint venture for the distribution of natural gas to Moroccan industrial customers. The partnership will lead to the creation of a special purpose entity, jointly owned by the two companies, for the purchase, transportation and distribution of natural gas to Moroccan industrial customers.

Chariot, a British oil and gas exploration company, holds a 75% interest in the Lixus Offshore exploration permit, offshore Larache (the remaining 25% is held by ONHYM).

Vivo Energy, a Netherlands-based petroleum products production, distribution and marketing company with mainly British shareholders, is the exclusive licensee for the marketing of Shell products in Africa.

"We are delighted to partner with Vivo Energy, which has a significant presence in Morocco and on the African continent, to develop and provide long-term natural gas supply to a growing industrial sector in the country," Adonis Pouroulis, CEO of Chariot, said at the event.

The partnership between Chariot and Vivo Energy also includes the establishment of a long-term gas sales contract for a portion of future production from the Anchois gas field, offshore Larache. "The significant demand for industrial gas in Morocco, which this partnership will address, supports the commercial viability of the Anchois project.

This agreement confirms Chariot's focus on the Moroccan energy market and expands our other commercial negotiations around future gas withdrawals from the Anchois gas field," said Chariot's CEO.
