Kuehne+Nagel (KN), one of the world's leading transport and logistics companies, announces the appointment of Michael Aldwell to its Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2023. Mr. Aldwell will be in charge of the shipping department and will succeed Horst Joachim (Otto) Schacht.

Otto Schacht, after 26 successful years with Kuehne+Nagel (11 of which as a member of the Board of Directors), will continue to play an advisory role for the Kuehne+Nagel Group, particularly in the field of maritime logistics. He will continue to nurture his long-standing relationships with shipping companies and support the Group's sustainability programs.

Michael Aldwell, born in 1984 and a New Zealand national, began his career in 2008 at Kuehne+Nagel in Auckland, New Zealand. He has international leadership experience in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas. In particular, he was responsible for the North-East US region in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Since January 2023, he has been based in Schindellegi, Switzerland, and is responsible for products, sales and marketing for marine logistics worldwide. Michael Aldwell holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Management degree from Lincoln University, New Zealand, and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, California.
