Ceva Logistics, a subsidiary of CMA CGM, strengthens its presence in the UK and Ireland with the acquisition of logistics provider Wincanton.
Ceva Logistics, part of the CMA CGM group, is putting over €650 million (£566.9 million) on the table to acquire Wincanton, a logistics provider listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The company is renowned for its storage, handling and distribution solutions, serving customers in the retail, grocery, e-commerce, construction, infrastructure, energy and defense sectors. In line with its expansion strategy, this operation enables Ceva Logistics to strengthen its logistics offering in the UK and Ireland.
A service provider employing over 20,000 people
With a heritage spanning almost a century, Wincanton operates from 170 sites in its geographical area. The company has around 8,500 vehicles and a workforce of 20,300, who will join the CMA CGM group.
