Les autorités égyptiennes espèrent que les recettes du canal de Suez atteignent 7 milliards de dollars, d’ici la fin de l’exercice 2021/2022. L’information a été rendue publique par les médias, le dimanche 22 mai.
Ces prévisions représentent une augmentation de 1,5 milliard de dollars par rapport aux recettes de l’exercice précédent selon les propos du ministre égyptien des Finances, Mohamed Maait, tandis que le canal de Suez a enregistré 629 millions de dollars de revenus en avril dernier, les recettes les plus élevées jamais enregistrées. Rappelons ses meilleures performances annuelles datent de 2021 et s’élèvent 6,3 milliards de dollars.
