Recently, Algeciras-based customs agency Partida Logistics opened a branch in Almeria to offer greater proximity to its customers in this important fruit and vegetable zone, as well as in the Murcia region.

The company aims to strengthen connectivity and speed up customs processes for imports and exports to Morocco and Algeria, as well as bureaucratic processes for exports to non-EU European countries such as the UK, Norway and Switzerland.

"This branch reinforces our presence in south-eastern Spain, one of Europe's agricultural powerhouses, where we already had a delegation in Motril, Granada," explains Álvaro Partida, the company's Sales and Business Development Manager. "We have several customers in Almeria, but we want to expand our presence by offering our experience in customs.

"We will continue to develop our Brexit division, which operates Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day." Although it has not yet been confirmed, it is certain that during the course of this year, the UK will request the phytosanitary certificate from any European exporting country, which will add complexity to the customs casuistry. We're used to dealing with phytosanitary controls for products from Africa and Latin America, so we want to come to Almeria and demonstrate our experience in this field," says Álvaro Partida.

New Tangier office and connections to Melilla and Algeria

"With the opening of the Tangermed line, we are offering a door-to-door service for better coordination of logistics, phytosanitary and customs management between the Moroccan and Spanish coasts, whether from Tangier to Algeciras or Motril and from Nador to Almeria," emphasizes Álvaro.

In addition, new connections with Melilla and Algeria will be added, at the ports of Ghazaouet and Oran, as the North African country gradually lifts its veto on products of Spanish origin, following the diplomatic crisis in Western Sahara.
