Le port de Mohammedia, situé près de Casablanca va accueillir la première unité flottante de stockage et de regazéification (FSRU) de gaz naturel liquéfié (GNL) du pays, d’après une information relayée par l’Agence nationale des ports (ANP).
En effet, la mise à jour de la station C du port de Mohammedia comportera désormais un terminal méthanier et un FSRU. De ce fait, le premier terminal méthanier du Maroc élira domicile à Mohammedia.
Un appel d’offres public pour l’étude de mise à jour du poste C pour le GNL et le terminal FSRU du port a été publié par l’agence et il est précisé que la date limite de retrait des dossiers et de remise des enveloppes est fixée au 25 janvier 2022 .
Mohammedia constituera un port énergétique à l’horizon 2030 et cela dans le cadre du schéma directeur portuaire national (PDPN). La formation reste une alternative pour le Maroc afin d’importer du GNL par voie maritime.
En d’autres termes, le pays va importer du gaz naturel liquéfié (GNL) au terminal avant d’être regazéifié pour être distribué aux clients industriels et aux centrales électriques.
Un appel d’offres pour la construction et l’exploitation du FSRU a été lancé par, le ministère marocain de l’Énergie . La portée initiale du projet FSRU du Maroc était d’un besoin annuel de 1,1 milliard de mètres cubes d’ici 2025 ; passant à 1,7 milliard de mètres cubes en 2030 et à 3 milliards de mètres cubes en 2040.
Dans ses déclaration, l’Algérie annonce qu’elle n’enverrait plus de gaz au Maroc, après une année de détérioration des relations entre les pays.
L’agence Reuters a également indiqué que le Maroc a prévu d’augmenter son objectif d’énergie renouvelable à plus de 52% du mix énergétique à l’horizon 2025.
