Dans une déclaration parue ce mercredi, le géant danois du transport maritime A.P. Moller Maersk a déclaré que ses bénéfices ont plus que doublé au deuxième trimestre, en raison de la hausse des prix du fret liée à des goulets d’étranglement dans la chaîne d’approvisionnement mondiale.
En effet, selon le rapport financier du deuxième trimestre de la société publié mercredi Maersk a enregistré 8,6 milliards de dollars US de bénéfices au deuxième trimestre, contre 3,7 milliards pour la même période de l’année dernière sous l’impulsion des taux de fret élevés.
Maersk a expliqué que les résultats ont été influencés par les résultats des conditions de marché exceptionnelles en cours et par l’élan continu de la transformation stratégique axée sur la logistique intégrée.
le PDG Soren Skou a déclaré dans le rapport que « Nous avons obtenu des résultats exceptionnellement solides au deuxième trimestre et avons ainsi enregistré le 15e trimestre consécutif d’amélioration des bénéfices d’une année sur l’autre ». Le chiffre d’affaires de la société a atteint 21,7 milliards USD au deuxième trimestre, contre 14,2 milliards un an plus tôt.
Le rapport indique également que les taux de fret ont connu une baisse légère au cours du trimestre, mais sont restés à un niveau historiquement élevé alors que la congestion de la chaîne d’approvisionnement s’est accrue dans le monde entier.
Les taux de fret élevés ont permis à l’entreprise internationale de logistique de conteneurs de réaliser des bénéfices de 15,4 milliards USD au cours des six premiers mois de 2022, tandis que le bénéfice annuel pour l’ensemble de 2021 était de 16,5 milliards.
M. Skou révèle d’ailleurs que « ce résultat est dû à de forts taux contractuels dans l’océan, à une croissance rapide et rentable dans la logistique et à une performance solide et continue dans les terminaux ». Toutefois, Maersk s’attend à une régularisation graduelle des prix du marché, les goulets d’étranglement de la chaîne d’approvisionnement devant être éliminés d’ici la fin de l’année.
