Ghana has received approval from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) authority to market 700 local products on the African continent, says the Minister of Trade and Industry

He reported that the government had taken advantage of the ZLECA guided trade initiative and facilitated market exploration missions for 63 companies in Kenya and 52 companies in Tanzania. "As a result, a total of 700 products have received attestation of origin so they can be marketed under ZLECA," he said.

Mr.Hammond reiterated the government's determination to continue creating an environment conducive to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other manufacturing businesses in Ghana, urging the private sector to take advantage of the favorable environment to invest in local manufacturing.
