Deutsche Post DHL Group, the global leader in logistics, today announced that it will change the company's name to "DHL Group" on July 1, 2023. The new name reflects the transformation the Group has undergone in recent years, and pays tribute to the focus on its domestic and international logistics business as a driver of future growth.

"Over the past decade, the major trends of globalization, e-commerce, digitization and sustainability have had and will continue to have a significant positive effect on our business. They have opened up new opportunities for growth in many areas," says Tobias Meyer, Group CEO.

"Today, we are one of the most international companies in the world. The name DHL Group and the use of the DHL logo for the group follow the development of our company's activities, which outside Germany almost never use anything but the DHL brand. Meanwhile, in Germany, the DHL brand continues to gain in importance."

Already, over 90% of the Group's sales come from activities operating under the DHL brand, including DHL Parcel in Germany.

Strong brands Deutsche Post and DHL remain unchanged

The Deutsche Post and DHL brands will continue to be used in Germany, as they have been in the past. "We are very proud of Deutsche Post's tradition, its rich heritage and its history dating back to the 15th century," says Tobias Meyer. "We will continue to use and cherish the Deutsche Post brand as part of a joint brand with DHL, and remain 'The Post for Germany'."

The DHL divisions will continue to operate under their current names, with one exception: from July 1, 2023, the Group will also harmonize and simplify the name of the DHL eCommerce Solutions division, which operates under the name "DHL Parcel" in certain countries. In future, this division will systematically use the name DHL eCommerce.

This name change has no impact on the divisions' service offering: the Group will continue to offer and invest further in a wide range of e-commerce logistics services across all business units - such as inbound logistics, fulfillment as well as express, parcel and return services.

Ticker to become DHL

The new name has no effect on the name of the Group's listed parent company, which remains Deutsche Post AG. The stock symbol, which is currently "DPW", will be replaced by "DHL" in order to better position the company's global portfolio on the financial markets and to capitalize on the strong recognition of the DHL brand.

The Group's name change has no impact on the name or nature of its legal entities, in particular Deutsche Post AG, or on relations with these internal and external entities.

Internally and externally, the Group will start using DHL Group on July 1, 2023 to identify itself in its communications and presentations. The rebranding of certain physical assets will only take place over time to avoid additional costs.
