Le dernier virage vers l’exploitation acté !

The PETROSEN Group is delighted to announce the arrival of the Léopold Sédar Senghor (LSS) FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading unit) at the Sangomar oil field on February 10, 2024, after dozens of days of travel across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

Indeed, the arrival of the FPSO LSS in Senegalese waters marks a significant step towards the start-up of oil production in Senegal, scheduled for mid-2024. We are thus taking the final turn towards exploiting our oil.

Despite the many challenges associated with this project, the State of Senegal, Société des Pétroles du Sénégal (PETROSEN) and operator WOODSIDE have succeeded in overcoming all obstacles to reach this crucial stage.

The FPSO LSS, with an estimated production capacity of around 100,000 barrels of oil per day, is the key element in the development of the Sangomar oil field, which will bring Senegal into the inner circle of oil-producing countries.

The PETROSEN Group warmly thanks His Excellency the President of the Republic Macky SALL and the Government of Senegal. It also expresses its satisfaction at seeing the FPSO arrive in Senegal, with a view to the imminent start of oil production in our country.
