More than 150 female employees of AGL Senegal, accompanied by their colleagues, were strongly mobilized on the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, March 08, 2024.

The day, whose global theme was "Investing in women: stepping up the pace", was used by AGL Senegal's valiant female employees to discuss the relevant topic: "Equal opportunities for men and women: internal promotion, promotional and geographical mobility".

On this occasion, a high-level panel was made up of Mrs. Awa Ndiaye SAGNA, Managing Director of the Centre de Formation aux Métiers Portuaires et à la Logistique (CFMPL); Mrs. Fatoumata Mbengue BA, CEO FAM Advisory; Mrs. Ama Wane LY, Managing Director TERANGA LOGISTICS SERVICES; Mrs. Bintou KONARE PAYE, Director of Human Resources at AGL with Mrs. Awa Cheikh DIOUF, Executive Director of the Musée de la Femme Henriette BATHILY as Moderator.

In the presence of the patron, Mrs Innocence NTAP NDIAYE, President of the High Council for Social Dialogue, the various panellists held the audience spellbound as they recounted their inspiring journeys, the challenges they have had to overcome, the socio-cultural constraints impacting the development of their careers, while dispensing pertinent advice to their sisters.

At the end of the discussions, the President of the Amicale des Femmes d'AGL Sénégal, Emma VAZ CARVALHO, expressed her satisfaction by declaring: "I would like to praise the quality of the debate and warmly thank the panellists, the participants and the Regional Management who, thanks to their strong involvement and mobilization, made this meeting a success".

Augustin Mathias SENE, Deputy Director of Human Resources, emphasized: "Equal opportunities for men and women are one of our company's top priorities, and for several years now we have been incorporating them into our HR policy and diversity charter. Internal promotion and geographical mobility are based on the recognition of employees' talent and skills".

The Amicale also organized an exhibition, "Deux Générations de Femmes, une vocation", in collaboration with the Musée de la Femme Henriette BATHILY.

Participants were treated to a delightful lunch at the end of this important event, which featured a humorous performance by the Kocc Barma Troupe from Rufisque.
