Le débit total de conteneurs s’est établi à 168 278 EVP, contre 155 980 au cours de la période 2020-2021.
Cette croissance est portée par l’avancement des volumes conteneurisés, dont le cuivre, le charbon de bois, le marbre, la volaille congelée, le sucre, les produits chimiques, la ferraille et les produits en bois. Les escales de navires se sont quant à elles multipliés de 22 %, soit 289 navires supplémentaires enregistrés sur la période.
Namport précise toutefois qu’environ 48 % des volumes proviennent d’Afrique du Sud, 23 % de Zambie, 15 % de la République démocratique du Congo, du Zimbabwe et du Botswana (avec 6 % chacun), 2 % d’Angola et 1 % du Malawi.
Il faut également souligner que le trafic transit vers les États voisins concerne en général la volaille congelée, les véhicules, les machines, les pièces détachées, les pneus, les produits chimiques à usage minier, les produits et équipements électriques.
