Selon un communiqué de l’ONCF, la transformation verte se fera de manière progressive.
L’Office espère avec cette nouvelle mesure améliorer à court terme, l’empreinte carbone avec l’équivalent de 120 000 tonnes de CO₂ évitées chaque année, ou encore 4 millions d’arbres plantés, rapporte La MAP.
Selon toujours l’ONCF cette transformation écologique s’inscrit en droite ligne avec la stratégie énergétique nationale. En effet elle place les énergies renouvelables au centre du mix énergétique du pays.
Et grâce à l’énergie propre, l’ONCF verdit le cycle d’alimentation électrique du réseau ferré national, en substituant sa consommation électrique par une énergie propre, ce qui lui permettra d’améliorer globalement son empreinte carbone, avec l’équivalent de 120 000 tonnes de CO2 évitées chaque année, ou encore à 4 millions d’arbres plantés.
Il faut souligner que « la transformation énergétique s’inscrit dans le cadre de la stratégie énergétique nationale conduite sous l’impulsion du Roi Mohammed VI, en vue de faire du Maroc, un pays engagé dans le développement des énergies éoliennes et solaire ».
