Côte d’Ivoire Terminal est le deuxième terminal à conteneurs du Port d’Abidjan. Il est construit sur une superficie de 37,5 hectares, avec 1100 m linéaire de quai et 16 m de tirant d’eau. Cette infrastructure importante pour le port d’Abidjan, vient renforcer l’offre logistique de la Côte d’Ivoire dont la croissance économique nécessite des infrastructures portuaires à la dimension des ambitions du pays.
Réalisé grâce à un investissement global de 596 milliards de FCFA, dont 334 pour les infrastructures de terrassement à la charge du Port Autonome d’Abidjan et 262 milliards de FCFA pour les superstructures à la charge du concessionnaire, à savoir, le consortium Bolloré Ports et APM Terminals, ce terminal va renforcer l’attractivité du port d’Abidjan et dynamiser les échanges entre la Côte d’Ivoire ainsi que les pays de l’hinterland notamment le Burkina Faso, le Mali et le Niger.
Quelle est la capacité de ce terminal et comment va-t-il dynamiser l’économie ivoirienne et sous régionale ?
Le nouveau terminal, connecté à la capitale économique ivoirienne sera capable de traiter, plus d’1,5 millions de conteneurs EVP par an. Grâce à son réseau logistique multimodal, il permettra d’accroitre les échanges dans la sous-région et contribuera au dynamisme des corridors Côte d’Ivoire/Burkina Faso/Mali.
Il va aussi renforcer la fluidité des importations et exportations du pays et servir de levier de développement pour les chaînes de valeur agricoles au bénéfice des producteurs locaux des filières cacao, noix de cajou, hévéa, et mangues.
Importante plateforme logistique, ce terminal favorisera la croissance du trafic de marchandises par voie maritime en Côte d’Ivoire et la sous-région. Enfin, il apportera son expertise dans la gestion des chaînes logistiques et le commerce international.
Quelle sont les innovations apportées par cette infrastructure ?
Cette nouvelle infrastructure intègre plusieurs innovations qui vont participer aux performances du port d’Abidjan notamment un système pour la gestion automatisée des guérites et la prise de rendez-vous en ligne avec reconnaissance optique, permettant la livraison et l’enlèvements des conteneurs, dans les meilleurs délais et en toute sécurité.
Les guérites sont dotés d’équipements permettant la lecture par reconnaissance optique de caractères, avec des capteurs biométriques et des barrières automatiques. Le système de gestion opérationnel est connecté aux équipements grâce à une couverture à 100%, par le réseau WIFI. Le terminal introduit également un système qui permet de gérer et de contrôler à distance, les températures des conteneurs frigorifiques pour garantir l’intégrité des marchandises stockées.
Le système de facturation quant à lui, sera bientôt totalement dématérialisé et offrira la possibilité de payer en ligne. S’agissant des équipements, nous disposons de plusieurs engins de manutention de dernière génération dont 13 portiques de parc (RTG), 6 portiques de quai, 36 tracteurs électriques, tous électriques, avec des bornes de rechargement.
Combien d’emplois va générer ce nouveau terminal et comment garantit-il le développement des compétences locales ?
En 2022, nous avons recruté 200 personnes. À terme, nous visons un effectif de 450 emplois directs. Notre politique des ressources humaines se veut standardisée et transparente. Il s’agissait pour nous de nous assurer de recruter les profils les plus pertinents et adaptés à nos besoins.
La gestion de nos ressources humaines repose également sur des principes de base qui nous permettront d’évaluer les compétences et d’assurer le développement de carrière de nos collaborateurs. En outre, nous avons recruté plusieurs jeunes, que nous avons ensuite formés aux réalités de nos métiers.

Notre plateforme se présente comme un acteur majeur dans la chaîne de valeur logistique en Côte d’Ivoire et dans la sous-région. L’accueil de navires de grande taille favorisant des économies d’échelle, la performance des équipements, la qualité de nos ressources humaines sont autant d’atouts qui nous permettent d’offrir des prestations aux normes internationales gage de compétitivité pour le Port d’Abidjan et par ricochet, des économies ivoiriennes et de la sous-région.
En plus, de cela nous avons construit sur nos installations un embranchement d’une ligne ferroviaire connectée au réseau national qui permettra de relier directement l’arrière-pays et l’hinterland.
Ce terminal sera labelisé Green Terminal. Qu’est-ce que cela signifie ?
Le label Green Terminal a été initié par Bolloré Ports, en partenariat avec Bureau Veritas, avec pour objectif de réduire l’impact de nos activités sur l’environnement. Pour ce faire, nous avons acquis une flotte d’engins qui fonctionnement à l’électricité notamment les portiques de quais, de parcs et les tracteurs portuaires, sans émission de gaz à effet de serre et de nuisance sonore.
Aussi, nous disposons de notre propre réseau de drainage équipé de séparateurs d’hydrocarbures et de deux stations de traitement des eaux usées. Les eaux ainsi traitées seront rejetées sans impact négatif sur l’environnement.
En outre, nous avons pris en compte les exigences internationales en matière d’efficacité énergétique dans la construction de nos bâtiments opérationnels et techniques. Nous prévoyons à terme l’installation de panneaux photovoltaïques pour l’alimentation en électricité des bâtiments et l’éclairage du parc, la réutilisation des eaux de pluies et eaux traitées pour le lavage des équipements et l’arrosage.
Quelles sont vos perspectives, après l’inauguration du terminal ?
