Compagnie maritime d'affrètement - Compagnie générale maritime (CMA-CGM) has just announced the launch of NAMEX, its new shipping line dedicated to fruit and vegetable exports from Morocco to North America.

This new route makes Tanger Med a hub between Asia and North America, with a Tanger Med - Halifax - New York - Philadelphia - Norfolk - Savannah - Charleston - Tanger Med rotation aboard the container ship "CMA-CGM Chile" from January 9, 2024.

The Tangier-Halifax crossing takes 7 days, while the Tangier-Philadelphia crossing takes 13 days.

The line offers two technological solutions for the transport of goods: "Climactive controlled atmosphere", to maintain an optimal atmosphere in the reefer container, and "Smart reefer", a connected container for monitoring the condition of goods during transport.
