The Wood Terminal of the Autonomous Port of Douala, in Cameroon, becomes the new concessionaire of the wood terminal of the Cameroonian port following the signing, on December 10, of a contract between the port and Bolloré Africa Logistics.
A concession contract for the Douala Port Wood Terminal (TBPD) was signed between Bolloré Africa Logistics and the Autonomous Port of Douala on December 10 for a period of 15 years. The aim is to take over the assets of the Société d'exploitation des Parcs à Bois du Cameroun (SEPBC) to develop the activities of the Douala-Bonabéri port wood terminal.
“We are pleased with the signing of this concession contract which consolidates the partnership with the Port of Douala,” said Jean Luc Pallix, General Manager of the Port of Douala Wood Terminal. “We will continue the modernisation work already underway on the Wood Terminal in order to offer solutions for the players in the sector and strengthen Cameroon’s foreign trade.”
Improve productivity
This signature concretizes the partnership that has already linked the two protagonists for several years, the objective of which is also to improve productivity. An investment plan of 15 billion CFA francs is planned. It includes, in addition to the paving and paving of storage and loading areas on 10 hectares, the renewal of handling and transport equipment. Previously, 11 billion CFA francs were committed to the work and the upgrading of facilities dedicated to the wood industry.
TBPD, a subsidiary of Bolloré Africa Logistics, manages approximately 1 m100 of wood handled per year with more than 000 employees.
