Maersk has announced a new transport solution linking the growing Tunisian market to its mainline services to and from Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

The new weekly service started recently and is operated with a dedicated ro-ro vessel between the port of Rades and the port of Cagliari in Italy. In addition, the weekly service offers the best connection between Morocco and Tunisia.

Ruben Moratinos, Head of Sales Maghreb at Maersk: "Our new offer significantly reduces transit times to and from Tunisia, while adding reliability and efficiency to our customers' supply chains in this important market.

"This new solution will also enable us to connect the eastern part of Algeria from January 2024 with the reopening of the port of Annaba, which will boost intra-Mediterranean trade."

The Ro-Ro vessel leaves the port of Tunis Radès (Tunisia) every Friday evening, calls at Cagliari (Italy) on Saturday and reaches our port hub in Tangiers (Morocco) on Thursday.

To ensure seamless and reliable logistics in Tunisia, Maersk has put in place a wide range of value-added services for its customers, including delimited warehouse availability, airfreight, less-than-truckload (LCL) as well as supply chain and 4PL solutions.

Other integrated logistics services enhance customer satisfaction, including customs services, inland transport, insurance, depot services and cold chain logistics.
