At a press conference held to give a detailed presentation of the forthcoming Salon international du transport et de la logistique, executives from Ceva Logistics, Segro, Stef, Pomona France and the DGITM shared concrete feedback on themes reflecting the transformation of their profession. Ecological transition, attractiveness of the sector, inclusion, collaboration, innovation... These are just some of the fundamental issues that SITL 2024 aims to address to a wide audience.

"Carbon neutrality in 2050 - yes, but how? This will be one of the major opening conferences at SITL 2024, which aims to shed some practical light on the subject through a wide-ranging question. Laurence Gaborieau presented the main new features of the show she heads - including an exclusive interview with Voxlog (media partner) - and then detailed the event's program at a press conference.

Laurence Gaborieau presented the main new features of the show she heads - including an exclusive interview with Voxlog (media partner) - and then detailed the event's program at a press conference.

At the Maison de la logistique durable, recently opened by real estate company Segro as an annex to the construction site of its urban logistics hotel in the Olympiades district of Paris, these industry leaders were able to share feedback and exchange views on the major themes addressed by SITL 2024.

"We're not closing any doors

First and foremost, the show will be part of the cardinal challenges of the ecological transition, which for many logisticians and transporters rhymes with decarbonization and the energy mix. We're also involved at the request of our customers, because logistics companies are part of what we call their scope 3*," points out Olivier Storch of Ceva Logistics, part of the CMA CGM group.

And there are different levels of decarbonization. As a major player in contract logistics, for example, we have a target of installing 1.8 million square meters of solar panels on the roofs of our warehouses, so that they can be self-sufficient or even generate electricity for the surrounding industrial parks." This is just one of many actions that can be implemented in parallel. As for Pomona in France, one of its current challenges is to transform its truck fleet.

We're not closing any doors," says Pierre Lefevre, Indirect Purchasing Manager for the group specializing in the delivered distribution of food products to catering professionals. We've begun our energy transition with the truck mix, looking at all possible energies: biofuel with French rapeseed, biogas from methanization, recent diesel motorization - which hasn't yet said its last word - and the first electric vehicles in the test phase."

"Develop a symmetry of attentions with our candidates".

The next edition of SITL also aims to promote the logistics and transport sector, through numerous institutional and private players, associative bodies, workshops, conferences... "To meet the various challenges of attractiveness, we'll also be setting up an area around the Terminal Ouest Provence, to present the history of logistics and transport, with a dedicated animation", announces Laurence Gautier. To respond to the various issues of attractiveness, we will also be setting up a space around the Terminal Ouest Provence, to present the entire history of logistics and transport, with a dedicated animation", announces Laurence Gaborieau.

These are crucial image issues for companies, which activate all possible levers to attract recruits. Jean-Yves Chameyrat, HR Director at Stef, a temperature-controlled food supply chain group, explains: "We've worked hard to make ourselves more attractive through team spirit and the possibility of advancement within the company.

We pay very little attention to the diploma: we take it into account, but it's certainly not the point of entry. We also strive to develop a symmetry of attention with our candidates. We receive 20,000 CVs a year; we obviously can't recruit everyone, but we take care to provide personalized responses to each one, even going so far as to give them advice."

In addition to the two major challenges of the ecological transition and the attractiveness of the industry, the show will also focus on inclusion, gender equality, CSR in its social implications, collaboration, training, innovation, automation and more...

But also topical issues, such as the organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris this summer, and more forward-looking discussions, such as the March 19 conference entitled "What will logistics look like in 2050?
