France's European Cargo Services (ECS) has set up shop in Morocco. This world leader in GSSA (General Sales & Service Agents), which represents some 80 companies and serves over 500 destinations, has decided to gain a foothold in our country through external growth.

The target is none other than Aero Fret solutions, an entity which has been operating in the freight and air handling services sector since its creation some fifteen years ago, and whose majority shareholder and founder, Pierre FOUGEROUSE, is well acquainted with the European Cargo Services group, being its long-standing partner both through Aero Fret solutions and EFIS Maroc, its sister entity and one of Morocco's leaders in freight commissioning for airport operators.

Morocco becomes the second country in which European Cargo Services has a direct presence in Africa, after Niger. The group also has a presence on every continent and in some 50 countries, supported by three regional handling platforms.

ECS has been built up through a series of acquisitions around the world, particularly since it was acquired by the Qualis investment fund at the time of its IPO in 1998. Since 2018, the air freight group has been acquired by Naxicap Partners, another investment fund in the Natixis galaxy.

With a customer portfolio including the world's leading airlines (which it represents as GSSA in several regions and airports), ECS now boasts sales of over 1.3 billion euros (nearly 15 billion dirhams), employs over a thousand people and carries over 900,000 tonnes of freight every year.
