Interview with Jürgen Weyhausen, President of Exclusive Project Network
26 May 2025 / 15:18

With over 50 years in logistics, Jürgen Weyhausen, co-founder of 7 Worldwide Logistics and the Exclusive Project Network (EPN), reflects on his unique career path and his vision for a rapidly changing sector. We meet a pioneer of specialized networks.

  • Who is Jürgen Weyhausen?

I have been working in the projects sector since 1973 and will complete my 52nd year in our industry in November of this year. I spent the first 20 years in shipping and was a sales and marketing manager for selected European countries for several shipping companies.

Since 1993, I have focused on logistics and freight forwarding, serving as Global Sales and Project Manager, and later as Managing Director for Germany, for well-known international project logistics companies. I spent seven years working for these companies in London, India, Dubai, and Central America/Caribbean.

In 2021, I founded 7 Worldwide Logistics, a well-known and highly successful project logistics company, with some of my former colleagues and other partners. I also founded Exclusive Project Network, a global project logistics network, as well as Global Industrial Relocation Network, the one and only network of its kind in the world, for industrial relocation companies and logistics partners.

  • Why did you create the EPN and what does it bring to the logistics sector in terms of innovations and improvements?

The EPN was founded as one of the few networks with a one-country/one-member policy—we only allow a second member if the existing member in a country agrees to have a second one, but we will never have more than two members in any country. This policy is not unique, but to my knowledge, there is only one other network that has such a policy.

Additionally, as EPN shareholders have their own project logistics companies, we are able to support members with our activities (which is quite unique) and the network is run by freight forwarders, not marketing people, which brings much more understanding of the member needs within the network.

  • This year, you are organizing the 4th annual meeting in Tunis. Why this capital and what does Africa represent for the EPN?

Tunis was chosen because we wanted to go to Africa (until now, our general meetings had only been held in Europe). So it was Africa's turn, but we also see, of course, that the project sector in Africa is growing a lot and we see a great future in African markets.

Jürgen Weyhausen
