DP World and Rosatom State Corporation have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the global marketplace, aimed at increasing the efficiency of international trade and creating transparent and sustainable global supply chains in transport and logistics.

To achieve this goal, the parties intend to create an international logistics operator to operate on Russian and international markets.

The signing ceremony took place at the COP28 climate change conference in Dubai, in the presence of Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, and Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World.

Rosatom and DP World will facilitate logistics integration between BRICS members and partner countries with the aim of expanding and improving the reliability of global supply chains, increasing world trade and advancing the global sustainable development agenda.

The agreement will be implemented on the basis of the basic infrastructure of Russia (including the Northern Sea Route), Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.

Alexei Likhachev, General Director of the state-owned Rosatom, said: "Reliable and flexible supply chains are essential for the world's economic and sustainable development, as well as for international cooperation between BRICS members and partner countries, with Russia's participation.

"Today, we have entered into an agreement with DP World to combine our expertise, skills and infrastructure capabilities to create a global logistics operator that will improve the transparency and accessibility of transport and logistics services, particularly in the developing countries of Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa and South America."

The agreement marked a new stage in the cooperation between Rosatom State Corporation and DP World. On June 15, 2023, the companies agreed to collaborate on the development of Eurasian transport logistics and container transport along the Northern Sea Route.

In October, they created International Container Logistics LLC, a joint venture that is currently building the first regular container line in the Arctic.
