The pooling of their cargo capacities, effective since April 2023, will cease on March 31.

"A constrained regulatory environment in some important markets did not allow the cooperation to function optimally." These are the words used by Air France-KLM and CMA CGM on Tuesday to justify the end of their commercial air freight partnership signed in May 2022.

Operational since April 2023, their cooperation covers the joint commercial operation of their respective all-cargo fleets, as well as the hold capacity of over 160 Air France-KLM long-haul aircraft.

Air France-KLM and CMA CGM will terminate their existing agreements on March 31, 2024, and are now discussing new terms and conditions for their commercial relationship. The former partners wish to continue working together so that "cargo customers can continue to benefit from their respective networks".

CMA CGM will leave the Air France-KLM Board of Directors on March 31, 2024, but will remain a core shareholder of Air France-KLM with a 9% stake until at least February 2025.
