Faced with the increase in parcel volume, DHL Express France called on Actemium Lyon Logistics to automate parcel processing in its new agencies in Beaune and Caen. The two sites can now process more than 3 parcels per hour.

To cope with strong growth, DHL Express France has launched an automation project in its Beaune and Caen agencies. This initiative, entrusted to Actemium Lyon Logistics, is part of an investment strategy aimed at optimizing parcel processing in a context of growth in trade in France and internationally. 

Luc Martinie, infrastructure and engineering manager of DHL Express France, welcomed the involvement of Actemium Lyon Logistics in this program. In particular, we are pleased that Actemium, a French company with recognized expertise, has demonstrated great commitment to developing the APS (Active Picking Solution) system in full collaboration with DHL's engineering department. This innovation has reduced the parcel processing time for our customers, but also improved working comfort for our teams. »

The APS system implemented by Actemium can process more than 3000 parcels per hour on each site. It makes it easier for delivery drivers to identify and retrieve parcels. Drivers can monitor and check the information relating to each parcel in real time (destination, number, arrival time, colour code). This reduces errors and optimises truck loading.

This automation of the Beaune and Caen agencies brings significant benefits to DHL Express. In addition to increasing processing capacity, the APS system contributes to strengthening operational efficiency. This project demonstrates DHL Express's desire to invest in innovative solutions to meet growing market demands while promoting the well-being of its employees.
